Had a very chilled out day today, to make up for my business of the past few days!

Thursday night, met up with [livejournal.com profile] morbidfrog, [livejournal.com profile] enlyyl, [livejournal.com profile] demondaz and [livejournal.com profile] chaoscowboy to see the Sleeping and Dreaming exhibition at the Wellcome Gallery. Some interesting items there but far too much information to absorb and due to the confusing, dark layout, had people constantly walking into each other. Popped into the permenant galleries upstairs too, which were fun. One gallery devoted to Medical artifacts collected by Henry Wellcome and the 2nd gallery about medicinal advances of today, all laid out in a fun, family friendly manner.

Friday night, back into London for more culture. Went to the Tate Modern with [livejournal.com profile] enlyyl to see the Duchamp, Manray and Picabia exhibition. Quite pricy at £11 but this was justified by the extent of the exhibition. 13 galleries, documenting the history and friendship of these 3 artists. Not enough of the fashion/glamour photograpy from Man Ray as I was hoping and it was all very tiring but I did like how they concentrated on the personal aspect of the artists and enjoyed some of the fun photos they took of each other.

Saturday daytime, to the Wallace Collection for their "Day in the 18th Century". To compliment their permenant collections, they had displays and talks on Court Dancing, Duelling, Weapons handling etc and lots of people in costume throughout the building. Even Madame de Pompadour and Marie Antoinette were present! Spent a few hours there, before hunger got the better of us and we retreated to The Pontefract Castle pub for food, soon joined by [livejournal.com profile] morbidfrog and Simon. Nice food but incredibly slow service, we were there for 2.5 hours in the end! Headed back home to get ready for the evening.

In the evening, went to the new clubnight Vagabonds, held at the Barrowboy and Banker pub in London Bridge. Excellent turnout and a fantasticly atmospheric venue. Music was more varied than I was expecting too, with a nice selection of bleep amoungst the goth sets. Fortunately, my 4" platforms stayed at home this weekend! :-) Stayed until the end and enjoyed the evening immensely.

Today, trying to compensate for the amount of fast food eaten this past week by spending the day cooking - casseroles and soups etc on the boil, while I attempt to motivate myself to the task of refilling the wardrobe. So far got 2 suits hanging up, so I'd better crack on with the rest or we've no sofa to sit on this evening!
