LOH Sunday Part 2
Next stop was the former Commonwealth Institute - yes, i get to see a "modern" building as part of the weekend!!
There was a fairly sizeable queue but we were advised it should only take around 30 mins, so we decided to go for it, given that it would be the last chance to see the building before works start on converting it to the new Design Museum.
It might not have been everyone's cup of tea but I was in my element - brutal, modernist, structurally fascinating and derelict! :-) We were escorted from one spot to the next where a volunteer tried to give us some info on the building (some more successfully than others), while a number of us went snap happy with the cameras.

As it was just round the corner, popped to Leighton House (no photos allowed inside unfortunately). Although the interior decor is breathtakingly stunning; pre-raphaelite OTT opulence; I was still coming down from the previous visit and combined with the crowds in the place, I couldn't really appreciate it properly.

to avoid rebellion ;-) we decided to briefly stop for lunch. grabbing food from a nearby Waitrose and sitting in the entrance to Holland Park - car park behind, dog toilet in front, nice stop! ;-)

after lunch we hopped on the tube and headed for South Kensington .............................
