Berlin out of line weekender - part 2 Friday daytime
Friday. Wanted to take it a little easy to save our feet before the first night of the festival. Had breakfast at the eclectic Tante Emma cafe across the river - a platter which was nothing less than a work of art, a tasty one at that!
Walked through Kreuzberg to the Maerkisches Museum, a museum of Berlin life, housed in a stunning gothic building. I couldn't understand how we were the only visitors, as it was a fascinating place and cheap at 4 euro admission.
the Kaiserpanorama
the music room
the Guildhall
a Munch painting
Had coffee in their pretty courtyard café, then as part of plan 'save feet’, we walked 5 minutes to a cafe bar on a boat - Deckshaus - where we spent the rest of the afternoon, enjoying the sunshine over green beer. :-)
