May Day bank holiday was uncharacteristically scorchio, so I needed to get out of the house! We'd not been to the Little Venice Canal Festival for around 10 years (just before I started at Imperial, in fact) so it was overdue a return visit.

We set off early, before it got too warm and took a walk along the canal from Swiss Cottage, which was a beautiful route to take.

The festival itself had grown considerably since our last visit and sadly felt less about the boats and more about market stalls and children's entertainment. We spent a few hours there, wandering around and then more wandering trying to find somewhere to sit.

Waited until the "working boat parade" which was delightfully chaotic, then decided to walk back to Swiss Cottage again, in an attempt to find some more peace and quiet. The walk back was somewhat longer, being rather tired and warm. A gin and tonic in the garden afterwards was incredibly welcome!
