Berlin weekend
5 September 2011 13:29Back from Berlin, bloody knackered and suffering a tad, I’m sure, from seasickness (nothing to do with alcohol, of course!). Of course I took many, many photos but this week will mostly be trying to pack for Lincoln, so regrettably the photos will have to stay on my camera until next weekend is over.
We had a rather lovely but somewhat unusual weekend in Berlin, seeing a rather different side to it than we’ve witnessed before. Not sure if it was down to our accommodation location – on the u-bahn line between the restaurant/bar/party areas of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain or if Berlin has finally been discovered as a tourism and stag do destination. It was busy! The trains at night were as rowdy as London nightbuses, seemingly obligatory to be carrying a bottle of beer and for the first time, we did get some hassle regarding our attire :-( Nothing too threatening but were accosted by groups of lively Turkish lads on a couple of occasions. Given that we were in a foreign country and language barrier against us, we just tried to grin and bear the comments and just hope it remained good hearted.
Slight gripe over, down to the nicer parts of the weekend ...............

Our hotel!!! (or hostel, actually)
( Hostel Boat and Eastside Gallery )
Sightseeing part 1
( Koepenick palace and Treptower Park )
Nightlife and such
( K17 Club and E-tropolis Festival )
Sightseeing part 2 - Sunday
( derelict fairground.................... :-) )
pictures will follow at some point later!!!!
