Not had a chance to post on here all week because its been a bit of a crappy week at work - lots of meetings, lots of stress and a number of colleagues being, to be frank, total arseholes, which has just put me in a cranky mood during the day, desperate to get home and sew!
The tube strike didn't help yesterday either - despite my worries, being one of the few colleagues who rely on the tube for our entire journey, although i had a long journey it was thankfully stress free.  Firstly having Rob drive me round to find a station that was open, ending up at Wembley as usual anyway and there was a limited train service to Finchley Road.  Still miles away from work, there was at least a bus service which went as far as Notting Hill - and as it was going in the opposite direction to everyone else (ie all around the suburbs, instead of to the City or West End) it was relatively quiet.  I got none of the queues and crushes that afflicted most of my friends yesterday.  From Notting Hill, i could have walked but hopped onto a passing bus instead, that one was busy so walking would have been less stressful but it got me to work, a mere 90 minutes late! :-)

Today I'd booked the day off anyway, as we're off on a little holiday in the early hours of this morning!

At 3.30am, we'll be setting off to Southend Airport and getting an early flight to Krakow, where I'll be meeting with my mum and dad (who are flying from Bristol), for a long weekend to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday.

Really excited about it.  Never been to Poland before and Krakow looks beautiful.  We've booked a table at an art nouveau restaurant for tomorrow night, a tour to the Salt Mines on Sunday and my parents are doing the Auschwitz tour on Saturday.  Rob and I decided we didn't feel up to doing that; although a number of people have recommended it, saying its a very moving experience, for me it just doesn't feel right going on a coach tour to a place which has seen such horrors.  Besides, we're only in the city for a few days, so I'd rather spend the time exploring the city.
