As we decided not to do WGT this year, I still wanted an excuse to dress up and not feel too gutted about missing my favourite festival - so we ended up going to not one, but two balls!  One in Abingdon and one in Bath.  It seemed a little insane but worked out very well, and a weekend of two very different events.


On the Saturday we went to Abingdon, for the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea steampunk Ball.  As the weather was supposed to be good, we set off early to make the most of our day in Abingdon. It turned out to be a little nippy but still a lovely day to peruse the town and have dinner in a lovely pub on the river.

to continue from the Bank Holiday Balls post.  On Sunday we headed across country to Bath.  we'd heard the motorways were hellish, so we opted for the scenic route.  A very pretty drive, via various white horses and Avebury stone circle, arriving in Bath pretty much on schedule.
