I need to update my LJ again.  the irony of when one is busy with lots of interesting things to post about, I don't have the time to make a proper update to do justice to it (with photos and all!)

In summary, we've had a couple of weeks of fun outings, clubs and birthdays.
The Sutton Steampunk Convivial last weekend, which was chaotic, confusing, silly and great fun
[livejournal.com profile] morbidfrog's various birthday events
A couple of clubnights - Schattenspiel for mittelalter and gothic metal, mead and socialising; and Inferno for bouncing round like a loon whilst being impractically overdressed (well, it was March 1st, so I had to wear my new Welsh corset .............. *note to self, never wear overbust corset for a night of bouncing round on the dancefloor again, my ribs are still suffering!*
A fresh winter's day out revisiting Bekonscot Model Village (as [livejournal.com profile] morbidfrog had never been there, so this had to be rectified!), along with a faery art exhibition in the countryside, a chocolate cafe and finishing off in (allegedly) the oldest Freehouse in Britain - the wonderful Royal Standard of England.  Rob is under strict instructions to take me back there on a regular basis now that we have discovered the place.

Whilst at home, I've been busy sewing (of course).  I still have the headdress to make for Gala Nocturna but first I have been trying to finish off an outfit to go with my welsh corset, along with finishing off a waistcoat I started before Christmas, in the hope I will get these done for Steampunk at the Seaside in a couple of weeks.

All the fun stuff has been offset by some concerns too.  Rob's dad's health is not improving and we are concerned about his mum stressing too much and not letting anyone help her.  She has turned down numerous offers of visits from the hospital/healthcare workers, on the basis that its too disruptive and she'd rather do it all herself.  We spent the day at their place yesterday and they were glad of the company, although Mon was then stressing about how visits tire Dan (Rob's dad) out.
Not sure what to do for Mothers Day next weekend; they're just not able to go out anywhere these days and if we go to visit, then Mon would feel obliged to cook and fuss over us like she has nothing else to worry about.  Might send Rob over by himself on Sunday instead; to be honest I have so much to do at home, could do with a day at home by myself, and she would appreciate some time with her son, without having to worry too much about keeping us entertained.
