Contrary to earlier forecasts, looks like the weather is being kind to me for this weekend and just had a lovely sunny lunchbreak in the V&A garden (although why parents feel obliged to dangle their wet babies over people trying to have lunch in peace is beyond me! Take it somewhere else to dry off!!)
Tomorrow Rob and I are off up north, ready for Resistanz festival in Sheffield Corporation at the weekend. Hoping that And One turn up and Covenant don't do another shambolic drunk performance but it should be a fab little event. Kudos to the organisers for pulling together such a fab line-up!
We initially planned to travel up on the Friday as our tickets showed 2pm doors open and I didn't want Rob to drive up the same morning, being too tired to enjoy the fest. However, it since transpired that its not going to start until 5pm ish each day. Decided to stick to Plan A and make a mini-holiday of it, spending Friday and Monday in the Peak District area en-route.
After the frustration of discovering many National Trust places don't open on Fridays - grr - current plan is to visit Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood tomorrow, followed by a detour through the Peak District, with the obligatory stop-off at Bakewell to purchase puddings! :-)
On Monday I want to go to Calke Abbey, which unfortunately will mean an early getaway from Sheffield to get there for 11am.
In between will be lots of bleepy musical goodness at the fest, with any spare time inevitably spent at the wonderful Devonshire Cat pub. mmmmm! :-)
So, a weekend of culture and bleep to look forward to, still haven't a clue what to wear though!
