LJ catch-up
3 May 2011 10:19OK, so the promised photos from Easter weekend have still not been uploaded nor have those from this past weekend, as I made a concerted effort to keep away from the computer over the weekend, barring a bit of Facebook browsing via the phone (which I wish I hadn't bothered as it only served to get me wound up by all the negative and sometimes just plain two-faced comments on there. :-( - to the extent of having a bit of an undeserved mopey introspective day yesterday)
In brief the long weekend consisted of an unplanned day at home Friday, sewing and watching the royal wedding on telly. Had planned to go round some National Trust properties but Rob wanted to go into work instead, giving me the unplanned but much needed sewing day.
May have got slightly carried away with all the military bling on display and much of the day was spent creating braiding designs for my military bodice.
Saturday, I had to get out of the house, so we did the National Trust outing. Planned to start at Waddesdon Manor and then onto either Claydon and/or Stowe but it was such a lovely day, sitting out in the grounds picnicing that we decided not to risk travelling to another site, for fear it would be too busy to get in and then tried to find a nice pub with garden, ending up at the familiar but lovely Three Horseshoes at Winkwell, located right next to the canal. Unfortunately this did mean missing Vagabonds as we really didn't want to rush home to go out clubbing (and I tend to lose my clubbing oomph in the summer months anyway), so we had an evening in catching up on Dr Who, the Walking Dead and the Crimson Petal and the White - my god I loved that series, so dark in tone and with costumes and room sets to die for. :-)
Sunday we ventured to deepest, darkest South London (or Croydon) ;-) for

Yesterday we stayed in to do boring but neccessary housework, hair-dying and getting on with sewing. (and yes, even Rob has bought some fabric to make something for WGT but god knows what he's doing!!)
I was frustratingly close to finally finishing my military victorian suit, just one tab left to sew braiding and buttons on but it was getting late so I decided it better not to rush the final touch and will complete it tonight.
