Well I did pretty much sod all over the weekend but it wouldn't be right not to have my weekly "weekend update" post!

Saturday night we did pop to Vagabonds, which was unfortunately quiet due to the number of gigs going on that night, but an enjoyable night was still had and I managed to leave with a lovely new corset, courtesy of Jenny Garside. (i've not managed to take pics of it on me as yet but its this one if you can access the page on FB).

Was considering wearing the corset for my as-yet unfinalised steampunk outfit for WGT but I'm not sure I want to wear a full length corset there this year (kind of impedes my crashing out on the floor between bands!), so I guess it will form part of my Asylum wardrobe instead.

As for WGT outfits, that's what the weekend mostly consisted of.
I finally braved trimming my beetle wings, which turned out easier than expected, making some up as jewellery and some to sew onto my feather cape.  Very pretty and shiny but impossible to photograph!

I have messed up a bit on my outfit planning, having 3 definate outfits and 2 maybes - to cover 4 days, oops!  Bad maths on my part!!  (yes, yes there is the Thursday night but a big outfit is wasted for that)
Now in a quandry what to do with my 4th outfit.  It has to, of course, include aforementioned beetlewing cape but I now have to decide between sparkly, red, hoop-skirt outfit or post-apocalyptic steampunk.  It wouldn't feel right going without a steampunk outfit but have never yet done the big hoop-skirt thing for WGT either!!

Yesterday, I also had to start on my dress for Sarabande.  So after persuading Rob to hoover, I then managed to scatter little shreds of lavender taffeta fabric all over the carpet from cutting out the skirt pieces!  Currently have 3 large lavender rectangles and several exceedingly long strips of purple satin, which should hopefully make a big polonaise style skirt, with lots of ruffled trim.

and then of course last night i made the mistake of checking my emails - to find that the bands' locations and timings had been announced!! - cue a rather late night, going through all my must-see's and stressing that they all clash!  This now leaves me with a potential "big dress" day on Sunday, to add to my 4th outfit dilemma. :-)

Soooo, now that the schedule is up, my provisional plans are as follows:

Friday - Victorian picnic, then Schauspielhaus for Jo Quail and Seiben.  Failing that, either Moritzbastei for Arian 1 or Agra for Covenant.

Saturday - Agra. Faderhead. :-) then either stay for Feindflug or head to Viking Village for Faun.  Depending on weather and mood!

Sunday - ?????? Not going to be my traditional day at Parkbühne this year (although I did want to see Culture Kultur).  Think we'll play it by ear.  Maybe a day at the Viking Village?  It would be nice to be there at the same time as everyone else for a change, so I look forward to seeing other people's plans!!  Either that or I drag Rob to the Alte Messe for a day of synthpop, mainly Assemblage 23. :-)
Really, really want to see Recoil but not sure I'll be able to manage to drag myself to the Agra for a show that late at night. :-(

Monday - aargh!! Can i duplicate myself please?  Alte Messe line-up looks great (mind.in.a.box, Dive, Hocico and of course Nitzer Ebb.).  However, In The Nursery was my no1 must see.  Mittelalter Monday doesn't hold great appeal for me this year, other than Coppelius and Medieval Baebes but i know Rob wants to finish the weekend there.

Think its going to be another year of "see how it goes" but I hope I get to see more great bands than i manged last year!

Also, of course, want to get to one of the Neo-romantic clubnights at Victor Jara.  not sure what night(s) yet, so happy to go with what others are doing there and work round that!
